First is the idea – whether it is a funky fruit I saw at the greengrocer or an abstract inspired by a visit to the Queensland Art Gallery, I always start with a drawing. And, of course, a sublime colour scheme.

Next, I explore my extensive artwork library searching for the perfect artwork to complement the drawing. I mostly use my abstracts but a few florals have been featured as well.

Lastly, using Photoshop, I spend many hours combining the two elements until they turn into a successful repeat pattern – a wonderful blending of illustration and bespoke artwork.
